A careful opening of the movement for cleaning and fresh lubrication, followed by regulation so the watch keeps steadier time. Recommended for watches worn regularly.

Crystal & Bezel Service

Full Vintage Restoration

Things People Often Ask
How often should a mechanical watch be serviced?
Most manufacturers suggest a service every four to six years for regularly worn mechanical watches. If the watch starts gaining or losing more time than usual, or feels less smooth when winding, those are signs it may benefit from attention sooner. Watches that are stored rather than worn may go longer between services.
What happens during a Service & Oiling?
The movement is carefully removed from the case, disassembled, and cleaned in a watchmaker's cleaning solution. Each part is inspected under magnification. Worn parts are noted and discussed with you. The movement is then reassembled with fresh lubricants, regulated on a timing machine, and returned to its case. A condition note comes with the watch on collection.
How long does a service take?
A Service & Oiling generally takes two to three weeks. A Crystal & Bezel Service typically takes one to two weeks depending on parts availability. A Full Vintage Restoration is a longer process — the timeline is discussed and agreed with the owner at the assessment stage, as each piece has different requirements.
Do I need to book an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome during our opening hours. If you have a specific question before visiting — particularly for a vintage piece or restoration — it is worth writing to us first so we can set aside the right amount of time for your watch's initial assessment.
What types of watches do you work on?
We work on mechanical and automatic movements — dress watches, sports watches, vintage timepieces, and family heirlooms. If you are uncertain whether your watch is suited to one of our services, get in touch and we can advise you honestly.
What does the service warranty cover?
The service warranty covers the workmanship carried out — lubrication, regulation, and assembly. If a watch that has been serviced with us shows a timekeeping issue related to the work done within the warranty period, bring it back and we will assess it. General wear, accidental damage, and issues unrelated to our work are not covered.
Can you source parts for vintage watches?
We have established routes for sourcing period-correct components for many vintage movements. Availability varies by watch and age, so we discuss this as part of the initial assessment. We never fit a part without your agreement on what it is and what it costs.
